The Lembcke Family to go for the World's Record for Number of Surgery's in a given year!

The Lembcke Family Announcement created a stir in the DFW Metroplex. Although there is much debate and doubt among those in the city, the close knit community of family and friends remain supportive and believe that the family may actually pull it off.

SURGERY #1
Late Summer of 2006 began the surgerical streak with a 'clean snap' break in the ankle bone of the youngest, yet very talented Lindsey, The Tower, Lembcke. During a heated and productive Basketball Practice, she rotated one direction while her foot rolled causing the stunning injury that was heard the gym over. In surgery within days, the talented athlete lost the entire season to injury much to the dismay of the entre team. World Renowned Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. J implanted a metal plate and six screws to stabilize the limb and allow the bones to heal together. Lindsey was in one cast after another thus being immobilized for many months. During this time she was inspired to begin her very productive Art Career. (story following shortly)

SURGERY #2
Three months later Lindsey received a successive surgery to remove one of the screws thus releasing the range of motion and furthering the healing process. This was followed by months of physical therapy. Then, In a bold move by Dr. J, Lindsey was released from direct care in late December, with successive follow-ups to be scheduled after 6 months.

The Lembcke family breathed a sigh of relief as they closed the book on 2006.

This was shortlived, however, as the family cheered for their Varsity Basketball Star. In the game of the century, Kimberly, the Dirkster, Lembcke took the break away and streaked down the court. She was miles ahead of everyone! Everyone, that is, except for one lone competitor who edged close enough to Kim to shove her and send her into a spinning whirlwind of terror! Three "Snaps" were heard as Kim crashed to the ground, in a devistating and shocking descent.

SURGERY #3
Dr. J did a double take as he entered the examing room to see the injured sibling of the "famed" Lindsey. After tests and x-rays, it was evident that Kimberly had "blown-out" her knee. The ACL Ligament had literally "exploded". She must undergo reconstrucive surgery to replace the ACL and to repair torn Miniscus. The entire office staff was stunned at the realization that two siblings would need surgery from sports injuries within months of each other. This was a serious injury involving many months of post-op appointments and physical therapy. Kimberly's care continues to be ongoing as she dutifully works out while wearing her knee brace.
SURGERY #4
The surgical announcements seem unending for the Lembcke family as the well-known talented and 'Wonder Mother" of the clan released her upcoming surgergy information to the press today. She will be undergoing a Hysterectomy on April 23rd. This is due to a "softball" sized Fibroid Tumor present in said body part. (This publication appologises for the graphic nature of this news, albeit necessary.) The family is requesting that she be showered with phone calls and emails following said surgery. (of course gifts and money are adequate substitutes) Any "advice" from experienced family and friends who have undergone this procedure is very much appreciated!

This will account for, count them, Four surgeries within 7 months! This rare event will tie the Current Worlds Record! Although it has been attempted many times unsuccessfully by other, less fortuitous families, the Lembcke's are actually at the brink of this coveted prize! What's more, anylystis say the family could actually be positioned to break the record number of cars and rodeo horses purchased for surgical teams as rumors of the final surgery approaches.

SURGERY #5
This tie breaking procedure looms in the future for the Surgery torn family. Sometime during the summer of 07, Lindsey will undergo yet another surgery. Dr. "J" as they have come to call him will have to reopen her incision a third time to remove all of the "metal" leaving her "beepless" at metal detectors.

This event will top the surgery record that was set in the 60's by the Woodell Family. It must be noted that the Lembcke Family is much deserving of such a coveted award. They will wear the title proudly. Mr. Lembcke has been quoted as saying..."$800 for that screw? I could have picked one up at Lowes!" as they approach the mindblowing $ figure amount.......He also later commented. "Thank goodness for Insurance!"

Wow - what a record! If anyone needs to have another surgery just to make sure the Lembckes are #1…I know we can help out one way or another (with all of those brittle bones breaking one more shouldn’t be a problem)!
